UPMC Green Roof & Amenity Deck

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The UPMC Green Roof & Amenity Deck transformed three rooftop levels into functional outdoor environments through turnkey green roof installation, amenity deck construction, irrigation, and ongoing maintenance. Completed in June 2023, the project demonstrates how integrated green infrastructure supports stormwater management, enhances occupant experience, and improves long-term building performance.

Greenrise was selected to deliver a turnkey solution spanning extensive and intensive green roof systems, premium rooftop amenities, irrigation, and architectural hardscapes. Rather than ending its involvement at project completion, Greenrise continues to provide scheduled maintenance every four to six weeks, helping protect system performance, maximize plant health, and extend the life of the installation.

OUR WORK

Greenrise provided turnkey installation of multiple rooftop green roof and amenity deck spaces across Levels 4, 5, and 7 of the facility. The project incorporated both extensive and intensive green roof systems with premium rooftop amenities to create attractive, functional outdoor environments while supporting stormwater management and building performance.

Ongoing Maintenance

A green roof is a living system that evolves over time. Consistent maintenance is essential to preserving plant health, supporting stormwater performance, protecting rooftop amenities, and maximizing the life of the installation. 

Since July 2023, Greenrise has maintained the UPMC Green Roof and Amenity Deck through scheduled service visits every four to six weeks. Each visit follows a comprehensive maintenance program designed to identify issues early, optimize system performance, and keep the rooftop looking and functioning at its best.
